Based on the recommendations of health and government leaders and based on a desire to protect the health and well-being of our communities, I have decided to temporarily close all BIBIBOP Asian Grill locations.
I believe we need to close our restaurants to protect our guests and team members. As a restaurateur, I embrace the fact that BIBIBOP is allowed to operate as an essential business and we have so much to offer to the community. At the same time, I have a responsibility for the ultimate well-being of our team members and guests.
The U.S. has witnessed a drastic increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases and our public health experts tell us that the real number of infected individuals goes far beyond what the system is capable of tracking. As more and more states order “shelter in place” and “stay at home” in a hope to “flatten the curve,” I knew I had to make this difficult decision because our frontline associates and managers cannot work remotely and are being exposed to potential risks every day the restaurants are open. I want to do my part to lower the risks our guests and our teams face as much as possible. As a citizen, this is what I can do to prevent the further spread of the virus.
All team members will be offered “Care Pay” to soften the impact of the closures and some team members may be temporarily furloughed until stores can safely re-open. We are also looking for groups to partner with to use our fresh, healthy ingredients to feed those who are in need in our communities.
This is a pause, and we will relaunch when we, together, overcome COVID-19. I believe the sun will shine again and until then, let’s be well, take care of each other, and be ready for a brighter, healthier future.
